Tooth Whitening

Tooth Whitening

Healthy teeth sometimes darken with age, and the problem can be made worse with excessive tea, coffee, red wine consumption or smoking. The fact is that yellow or stained teeth can be unsightly and affect confidence.

Whether you choose power whitening or a more cost-effective home kit, the results delivered by the team at Allander Dental Care can be remarkable.

Zoom! teeth whitening

One-visit tooth whitening from our dental practice in Milngavie is possible thanks to our innovative Zoom! whitening system. This advanced power teeth whitening solution is one of the most advanced in-clinic whitening procedures you can find. Remove stains and leave teeth six to ten shades lighter after just one treatment.

Completely safe and pain-free, our dental clinic can lighten your teeth and leave you with a whiter smile in a single treatment.

How does teeth whitening work at Allander Dental Care?

The first step is for you to give us a call and book yourself in for a consulation. One of our dentists will examine your teeth and explain how the Zoom! Treatment works.

After a thorough cleaning, a light-activated, low concentration hydrogen peroxide gel will be applied to your teeth and treated with a special light to activate.

No pain, no stress; all you have to do is sit back, listen to some music and relax while using the whitening lamp on your teeth.

Please note, the Zoom! procedure only works on natural teeth and is not suitable for patients under 18 or pregnant women.

Why are my teeth discoloured?

There are many reasons your teeth may begin to lose their shine and discolour, such as:

  • Some medications
  • Diet
  • Staining beverages and food (such as wine, coffee and fizzy drinks)
  • Poor dental hygiene
  • Smoking.

Food and drink, in particular, stain the enamel on the surface of your teeth and worsen over time. Continuous consumption of certain foods will create a layer of staining on a tooth that regular brushing will not be able to remove.

Our tooth whitening treatments, whether surgery whitening or home whitening trays, offer the perfect solution to regain a white smile and the confidence that comes with it.

How long does teeth whitening last?

Teeth whitening treatments typically last for up to three months but varies from person to person and depends on diet and oral hygiene. The more you look after your teeth, the longer the treatment can last.
